Data Rights Requests
Depending on where you live, you have legal rights regarding the personal data Deuce holds about you. We honor these rights regardless of jurisdiction — a California resident has the same data rights at Deuce as a European visitor.
Your rights
- Right of access. Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you, in a portable format.
- Right of correction. Request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Right of deletion. Request that we delete your account and personal data. Some records may be retained for legal/financial compliance (e.g., transaction records for tax purposes).
- Right to opt out of sale. Deuce does not sell personal data to third parties. You can confirm this status at any time.
- Right to opt out of marketing. Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email, or update preferences in your account.
- Right to data portability. Receive your data in a machine-readable format (JSON or CSV) so you can transfer it elsewhere.
The fastest way to delete your account
You can delete your account directly from account settings — no email request needed. Deletion is irreversible and follows the soft-delete pattern: your personal information is anonymized while order history is retained for the buyer or seller you transacted with (and for tax/legal compliance).
How to submit any other request
Email support@deuce.global with the subject line “Data Rights Request — [Request Type]” and include:
- The email address associated with your Deuce account
- The type of request (access, correction, portability, marketing opt-out)
- For correction requests: the data to be corrected and the corrected value
Identity verification
Before fulfilling a request, we may ask you to verify identity — typically by replying from the account's registered email. This protects you from someone else requesting your data.
Response timeline
- Access & portability: within 30 days
- Correction: within 30 days
- Deletion (via account settings): immediate
- Marketing opt-out: within 10 days
What we retain after deletion
Some data is retained even after account deletion for legal compliance:
- Transaction records (7 years) — required by US tax law for IRS Form 1099-K reporting
- Records of fraud, counterfeit, or chargeback events — retained to prevent re-registration
- Records subject to active legal hold or subpoena
- Order history retained for the other party in the transaction (their buyer/seller record cannot be erased by the counterparty)
Beyond these categories, we delete personal data: email, name, addresses, photos, listings, offers, saved items, account preferences are anonymized or removed.
If we deny your request
If we deny a request — for example, because identity verification fails or the request falls outside applicable law — we will explain why and how to appeal. California residents may also contact the California Attorney General. EU/UK residents may contact their national data protection authority.
