Seller Agreement
1. Eligibility to Sell
To sell on Deuce, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a verified Stripe Connect account (KYC required)
- Have legal authority to sell the items you list
- Comply with all applicable tax laws in your jurisdiction
2. Listing Standards
All listings must include:
- Accurate brand, model, condition, and category
- Minimum 3 clear photos showing the actual item (not stock images)
- Honest description of any defects or wear
- Realistic pricing in USD
3. Commission & Fees
- Marketplace commission: 12% of the sale price, deducted from payout
- Payment processing: Stripe fees (~2.9% + $0.30) deducted from payout
- Sales tax: Collected by Deuce on your behalf via Stripe Tax (Marketplace Facilitator laws)
4. Payouts
Payouts are released 3 business days after the buyer confirms delivery (or 7 days after delivery if no action is taken). Funds are deposited to your linked bank account via Stripe.
5. Tax Reporting
Deuce (through Stripe Connect) will issue a Form 1099-K to eligible US sellers as required by current IRS and state-law thresholds. Federal thresholds change annually (currently $5,000 for tax year 2024, $2,500 for 2025, and $600 for 2026 and later, subject to ongoing IRS guidance). Refer to irs.gov and your Stripe Connect dashboard for the current year's requirement. State-level thresholds may be lower. You are responsible for reporting your marketplace earnings on your own tax return regardless of whether a 1099-K is issued.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- List counterfeit, stolen, or recalled items
- List items outside permitted categories (see Prohibited Items)
- Direct buyers to transact off-platform
- Misrepresent the condition or authenticity of items
- Create multiple accounts to manipulate visibility
7. Account Termination
Deuce may suspend or terminate your seller account for violations. Pending payouts may be held for up to 90 days during investigation.
8. Liability
You are solely responsible for the items you sell, including legal compliance, accurate descriptions, safe shipping, and any post-sale obligations.
